Each owner of an Internet resource is interested in the amount of traffic, that is, site traffic. The growth of traffic indicates the increasing popularity of the site, and the decrease in traffic indicates that something needs to be changed on the site.

Instructions
Step 1
To get information about traffic from your site, you need to install an Internet counter on your site. Such a counter, being on the site, records every visit. With the help of it, you can find out not only the number of visitors for a certain period of time, but also see where the largest amount of traffic comes from and for which search queries the overwhelming number of visitors comes.
Step 2
To install the counter, select the appropriate site statistics scoring system. Keep in mind that there are free and paid services. But it is not at all necessary that the free counter will be worse than the paid one. To assess the possibilities of recording attendance, see the list of parameters that are recorded by the statistics collection tool. Such parameters should be stated on the website of each attendance scoring system.
Step 3
Register on the website of a suitable traffic data collection system. When registering, indicate a valid e-mail, as it may receive a letter to activate your account.
Step 4
On the website of the system, choose a counter that matches the color and design for your website. Choose the appearance of the counter in such a way that it does not catch the eye of visitors: it is minimal in size or is not visible at all on the site.
Step 5
If you do not want the summary of your website traffic to be available to all website visitors, set a password to view statistics. This can be done in the appropriate section on the Internet counter website.
Step 6
Copy the counter code and paste it into the site so that the counter is present on every page. It is most convenient to insert a counter into the sitebar (side of the site) or footer (bottom of the site) if they are shown on all pages of the site.
