If your Facebook account has been hacked, or if you've forgotten your password and can't access your profile anymore, don't worry - you can always restore access by following a few simple steps.
If you've forgotten your password or username, or someone has managed to hack into your account and change your password, there are several ways to recover your account besides photo recognition.
How to do it?
First, you need to find your account. For this step, you can use your email address or your phone number. Once you have successfully identified your account, you will be redirected to a password reset page.
Before proceeding with restoring access, carefully check if this is indeed your page.
If all is well, check the contact information that will be requested from you, then click the reset password button. After that, a verification code will be sent to your email address or phone number. Enter the received code in the appropriate field on the website, and you will be able to manage your account again.
If you are able to access your account and you suspect that your account has been compromised, immediately change your password and update your contact information. Be sure to remove any email addresses or phone numbers that you did not provide, or that you do not have access to today.
If registration data is not available
Sometimes you still can't restore your Facebook page using the methods above. For example, if you do not have access to the email or phone number that you provided during registration. In this case, Facebook allows you to specify a new email address that the site administration will use to contact you.
To start this process, click on the corresponding link in the lower right corner of the "Password Recovery" page. You will be given the opportunity to answer your security question and reset your password on the spot.
After you answer the security question, you will have to wait 24 hours before you can access your account. This option is provided as an additional precaution.
Help from friends
If you cannot answer the security question, Facebook gives you the option to select several trusted friends who can help you recover your account. The friends you choose will receive a code from Facebook. After you collect all the codes from your friends, you can submit them to the administration of the social network, and reset the password.
