If there are several thousand messages in an e-mail inbox, it makes no sense to try to find the right one among them manually. In this case, the web interfaces of the mail services are equipped with the function of automatic search of letters by keywords.

Instructions

Step 1

Log into your email inbox using a regular web interface (not a WAP or PDA interface, or Thunderbird, Outlook, or the like).

Step 2

Find the input field, to the right of which there is a button with the word "Find", "Search" or similar, or with a magnifying glass image. Enter a search string in this field, and then click this button. Please note that web mail interfaces, unlike general search engines, do not automatically search for word forms, search and correct typos, etc. The search will be carried out exactly on the line that you entered. Also, some email services do not search for attachments, their file names, or outside of the Inbox.

Step 3

If you know exactly in which folder and on which page of this folder the letter is located, as well as what title it should have, carry out a search within the page by pressing Ctrl-V, entering a fragment of the title and pressing Enter. In this case, it is not the server that will search for the message, but the browser itself. The search will also be carried out exactly according to the entered string without attempts to automatically change or correct it, but its circle will narrow even more: it will be limited to the current page.

Step 4

If you find that the message was previously in the Spam folder and then disappeared without a trace, do not try to return it. This means that the server you use will automatically delete from the Spam folder all messages that have not been transferred to your Inbox within a certain period. Ask the sender to send you the letter again, and so that it does not disappear again, immediately after receiving it, open it and click on the "This is not spam" link or move it to the "Inbox" folder. In the future, do this with all messages that were mistakenly mistaken by the server for spam, and then you can avoid losing them.
