You are faced with the need to transfer your domain to another registrar. In other words, you need to change hosting. There is no need to go into the details of the reasons, it does not really matter. So, moving to a new hosting is not a very simple matter, treat it responsibly, observing the established procedure.
Instructions
Step 1
Create a backup of your website database (Mysql). Use the Sypex Dumper script for this - create a copy of the database and export it to a PC. Then zip all files and directories that are included in your resource.
Step 2
For experienced programmers, packing the files in tar.qz, a Unix archive, will be optimal. To do this, use any file manager convenient for you.
Step 3
Next, you need to register a new domain on the selected hosting. Be sure to mention during the registration process that you will be transferring your site to it.
Step 4
After creating a domain, go to your hosting control panel to create a new database for your site, empty. Next, copy all the files and directories of your database to the hosting. You can use the FTP protocol for this either using SSH, as well as the wget command (this is how it will look: wget https:// old_site_address.ru/file_archive_site_files.tgz). The second option is faster. Copy the archive to a new domain, namely to its root directory.
Step 5
When copying is over, unpack the archive using the appropriate command, after which you should delete the domain records from the control panel of the old hosting.
Step 6
Change the DNS records of the domain, update them, because the site will now become unavailable on the old domain. However, you will need to maintain your regular audience, so you need to inform it ahead of time so that people know what the new site address will be like.
Step 7
To change DNS records, go to the management panel of the domain name registrar, enter the DNS servers of the new hosting provider in the settings. Updates will be invalid for a while. For them to take effect, wait about a few hours.
Step 8
Next, you need to restore data in a new database. To import saved tables into it, use Sypex Dumper. To access the database, install a new "login-password" link.
Step 9
After the database import is complete, change the CMS configuration file by changing the login with password and the name of the database. The matter is small - check the permissions to files and directories, as well as how correctly your site is launched on the new hosting.
