If you have in your home not only a personal computer, but also a laptop, netbook or other portable device, then it is most profitable to organize wireless Internet access. As a result, you do not need to lay network cables and depend on their location.

additional network card, Wi-Fi hotspot

Instructions

Step 1

Set up wireless access through a personal computer connected to the Internet in any way. In this case, you need to install an additional network card on your PC, and connect the access point to it via a network LAN cable. Then open "Network and Sharing Center" and go to "Change adapter settings".

Step 2

Find the second NIC and open its properties. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) and click on the Properties button. Enter the IP address for your home network and the subnet mask, which should match the instructions for the access point. Click the OK button and start connecting a new network connection. Now you can start configuring wireless access.

Step 3

Launch any internet browser. If you have a Windows operating system, it is best to use the Internet Explorer browser, as not all programs can work correctly with the Wi-Fi setting. Enter the IP address of the access point in the address bar. After that, a window will appear in which you must enter your username and password. If you have not previously changed the parameters of the access point, then by default you must enter the word “admin” in both fields.

Step 4

Fill in the access point parameters. To do this, enter the network name, enable encryption and come up with a key. If this is not done, then unauthorized people can use your wireless network. After completing the Wi-Fi setup, go back to the "Network and Sharing Center" and open the properties of the network adapter to which the Internet is connected. Click the "Advanced" button and enable permission for other users on your network to use this Internet connection.

Step 5

Turn on the laptop you want to provide wireless access to. Go to network settings and select "Search for a wireless network". Select the desired network name and enter the key from it. After that, you will be presented with wireless Internet access.
