Based on the ready-made template, a site is created in Joomla. There are many different themes on the Internet for this platform for any type of site and topic. But if you want to create a unique style for your resource, you can make a template yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
In the templates folder, create the templateDetails.xml, index.php files, and also in the css subfolder - template.css. Create them using a regular text editor "Notepad", change the resolution in the file manager. Just edit the similar files already on the hosting server. Do this using the server's built-in manager.
Step 2
Based on the tasks that the generated files should perform, fill in their contents. The main file called index.php shows the path to the Stylesheet and sets the position of the module. The templateDetails.xml contains information about the template for Joomla, and the appearance of the resource is described by css / template.css.
Step 3
Describe the appearance of the theme and the entire website that the theme will be applied to in the template.css file located in the css folder. Save the changes, check the result. To do this, load the page in a web browser. Use multiple browsers to identify compatibility issues during theme development.
Step 4
Upload the theme files via the add templates dialog and specify their location using the "Browse" function. Add the template you created to your admin panel. Click on the "Default" button to make this theme the default theme.
Step 5
With css, you can create templates of any type. Maybe other resource creators will like your presets - put them and sample page appearances on your website. Save copies of the files for your resource on a media carrier. Do not forget to do this, otherwise if you have viruses on your computer, they can block access to files. And you must be prepared for PC breakdowns, having previously made copies.
