There are situations when, when communicating with a Skype user, you need to find out the IP of the interlocutor. This task is easy to accomplish. If both you and your opponent are connected to the Internet directly, it is often enough to simply check the correct connection.
It is necessary
- - internet service;
- - a program for collecting statistics and traffic control;
- - firewall.
Instructions
Step 1
Use an internet service. Add a link to any Internet resource to the service, get instead a short link generated by the service. Send the generated link to the user whose IP you want to find out. After he follows the link, you will receive his IP address on the e-mail you specified.
Step 2
Run the NetLimiter software that displays Internet traffic statistics, then send the file to the user. In the main working window of the program there is a branch where all connections, both incoming and outgoing, are displayed, as well as statistics for each of them - track the direction of traffic in this branch.
Step 3
Enter "Start -> Run -> cmd" - netstat -a in the command line. Call or send the file to the user whose data you are interested in and see what new entries have appeared in the program terminal.
Step 4
Open connection monitoring in Kaspersky Internet Security antivirus and view which IP address the connection is addressed to and where the person you are communicating with is located.
Step 5
Give the user whose IP you need to find out the file and observe in the firewall (the program that monitors and filters the network packets passing through it) where he went. If the file was sent directly to the user, you can use the received IP address.
Step 6
In Windows Vista, transfer the file, then go to the connection monitoring ("Control Panel" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Performance and Stability Monitoring"), there will be two IP addresses in the monitoring: the Skype server and the opponent's IP.
