An IP address is an Internet protocol that is the backbone of any network. With its help, subnets were united into the worldwide Internet. But in this article, methods of determining the site address by its ip address using the program and built-in Windows tools will be analyzed.
Instructions
Step 1
There are two main methods that can be used to determine the address of a site if you know its ip. The first method is to use the nslookup command at the Windows command prompt. Open the Start menu and select Run (it is initially hidden in Windows 7). To activate it, right-click on Start - Properties. Select the second tab "Start Menu" and click the "Customize …" button. Then in the list provided, find "Run Command", check the box and click OK. After you have opened the "Run" window, enter the command "cmd" in the active field. Windows Command Prompt will open.
Step 2
Then enter the following command "nslookup 81.19.70.3", where nslookup is the command that will return the site address, 81.19.70.3 is the site ip address (in this example, the ip address of the rambler.ru site is used). After entering the command, press the Enter key. As a result, your ip-address, site name and the ip-address you entered will be indicated. This algorithm of actions gives a limited result, so for more information, use the second method.
Step 3
Use the Win32Whois program, which allows you to find out detailed information about the site address (domain name) or IP. The program also has the ability to save the received data to a text file. So, run the program and in the Domain field, enter the site's IP address and click on the GO button. Of course, for the program to function, an Internet connection is required. Enter the same ip address as in the example above, and you will see not only the address of the rambler.ru website, but also full information: who the domain name is registered to and on which DNS servers it is located. To save the information to a text file, click File - SaveAs and select the path to save. The.txt extension must be added to the file name, otherwise the file will be saved without the extension.
