To protect the author's HTML code from being viewed by site visitors, you can use encryption utilities. These programs will allow you to hide the code from users who want to view it or copy it to their sites. Applications differ in their use of different encryption algorithms.
Instructions
Step 1
Download HTML encryption software from the Internet. The WebCrypt Pro utility allows you to encrypt entire HTML files, hide links in the body of the page itself, block the right mouse button for a copy operation, disable printing and disable caching. HTML Protector, in addition to the standard code protection, makes it possible to protect images from theft and allows you to prohibit opening and copying of the original page. HTML Guard and HTMLencrypt applications have similar functionality and protection scheme.
Step 2
Run the downloaded file and wait until the installation is complete. Run the installed utility using the shortcut on the desktop or through the Windows Start menu.
Step 3
In the window that opens, go to the desired tab. If you want to encode the entire file, then in the Files item, specify the path to the encoded page. If you need to encrypt the code, then paste the original HTML into the corresponding text field and click the Protect or Decrypt button, depending on the selected program.
Step 4
It is worth noting that encryption works mostly only for Internet Explorer, in other browsers the result may be different. Moreover, these programs will not be able to protect against serious web developers, since the algorithm used in the utilities can be easily deciphered. Also, encrypted documents are not indexed by search engines.
Step 5
There are many internet services for HTML encoding. Enter the query "HTML Encryption" in any search engine and use any resource that you like. Most of these sites use the same Java Script based encryption algorithm, which means that the efficiency and result of the encoding will be approximately the same.
