In any popular web browser there is a function of saving the page to a local storage medium. However, sometimes you want to keep a group of pages or even merge the entire site. A regular browser is not suitable for this purpose; here it is worth using special download managers.

Necessary

  • - Internet connection;
  • - Teleport Pro program.

Instructions

Step 1

Start the Teleport Pro New Project Wizard. From the main application menu, select File and then New Project Wizard.

Step 2

Specify the structure type for the local copy of the resource to be created on the first page of the Project Wizard. Activate the option indicated by the text Duplicate a website if you need to reproduce the virtual directory structure of the site based on the URL of the documents. Select the option indicated by the text Create a browsable copy… if it is acceptable to place all uploaded documents in one directory.

Step 3

Define the surfing parameters for the target website with the Teleport Pro application on the second page of the project wizard. In the Starting Address box, enter the URI of the page from which to start crawling the resource. In the Up to text box, enter a number that specifies the maximum number of link clicks from the starting document.

Step 4

On the third page of the wizard, set the options for filtering content and accessing the target resource. Choose one of the following options:

- Just text, if only html-documents are to be saved (images, scripts, videos will not be uploaded);

- Text ant graphics, if you want to save images in addition to the hypertext content;

- Text, graphics, ant sound will allow you to load text and graphic information, as well as sound files;

- Everything turns on the mode of full duplication of the resource contents.

Enter, if necessary, the data for accessing the site in the fields Account and Password. Click "Next". Click the Finish button. The project wizard will close.

Step 5

Save the project to a file. This will allow loading in multiple sessions. The save dialog will appear immediately after the window of the New Project Wizard is closed. Select the preferred directory in it, enter the file name and click on the "Save" button.

Step 6

Merge the site. Open the Project menu and select Start. Wait for the end of the data loading process. The waiting time can be quite long. After you finish saving the information, you can start using the local copy of the site. It is located in the same directory where the project file was placed.
