Step 1
Buy a network card and connect it to the computer that already has access to the Internet. If this computer does not have free PCI slots located on the system board, then purchase a USB-LAN adapter. They are capable of providing a sufficiently high data transfer rate even when using a USB 1.1 channel.
Step 2
Use a twisted pair to connect this network adapter and the network card of the second computer. Turn on both PCs and wait for the operating systems to load. After a while, a new network will be defined. First, configure the settings for the first PC. In this case, it will act as a proxy server. Open Network and Sharing Center and navigate to the list of active network connections.
Step 3
Open the properties of the network adapter connected to another computer. Highlight "Internet Protocol TCP / IPv4" and click the "Properties" button. Enable the use of a static IP address. Set its value. Better to use the address 192.168.0.1. Save the settings for this network adapter.
Step 4
Open the properties of your internet connection. Find the "Access" tab and open it. Allow other network users to use this Internet connection. Save your settings and restart your computer.
Step 5
Open the properties of the network card of the second PC. Proceed to configuring TCP / IPv4 parameters. Set the permanent IP address for this network adapter to 192.168.0. X. Find the "Default Gateway" and "Preferred DNS Server" items. Fill them in with the IP address of the first computer. Save your settings and turn on your internet browser. Check if your internet connection is active. Disable the firewall on the first computer if Internet access does not appear.
