Wi-Fi technology (from English Wireless Fidelity, literally "Wireless Accuracy") is widely used in computer networks, providing users with broadband Internet access and allowing them to stay connected, freely roaming within a certain area. The simplest example of using Wi-Fi is the installation of an access point in an apartment, all devices available to the user with Internet access can be connected to it.

Wi-Fi is widespread in Western countries, bars, cafes, restaurants provide free wireless access to their visitors, and it is available in many other public places. Gradually, such access to the Internet begins to appear in Russia. In particular, free Wi-Fi Internet is already operating in schools and administrative buildings in Moscow, the metropolitan subway, and city hospitals. And not so long ago, the Moscow authorities announced the installation of Wi-Fi access points in fourteen city parks.

The internet connection speed is 0.5 Mbps. The city authorities are not going to restrict residents and guests of the capital in the use of Wi-Fi - this connection was made on the basis of a three-year contract concluded with the operator "Task".

According to information from the message of the Moscow Department of Information Technologies, the equipment that allows you to get Wi-Fi access to the Internet was installed on lamp posts and office buildings located inside the park zone. It is not planned to turn off the equipment during the cold season.

Wireless Internet is available in the following Moscow parks: the Hermitage City Garden, the Bauman Garden, the Tagansky, Babushkinsky, Lianozovsky, Perovsky, Lyublino, Izmailovsky, Krasnaya Presnya, Sokolniki, Northern Tushino, Fili, Kuzminki and Maxim Gorky Park.

You can view a map of the location of Moscow parks with the Wi-Fi hotspots indicated on it by visiting the mos.ru website and selecting the Infographics - Parks section.
