If you find an error in the operation of the server or when it hangs, you must inform the administrator about it. You can contact him through the forum, personal messaging system, feedback form, as well as by e-mail or phone.
Instructions
Step 1
Many online communities have a rule that prohibits publicly discussing the actions of the administration. But this does not apply to problems on the server. If the forum has a section or topic for suggestions for improving the user interface and posting reports on errors in its functioning, feel free to post your messages there. Remember that you cannot publicly disclose security vulnerabilities that you discover, as this information can be exploited by attackers.
Step 2
To send the administrator a private message, find out his nickname. Please note that there can be several moderators, and one administrator. Then go to the site on the link "Personal messages" or similar. Select "New message", and then in the "Recipient" field enter the nickname of the administrator. Enter the text of your message in the field provided for this, and then click the "Send" button.
Step 3
Some sites have forms of contact with the administration. They work similarly to guest books, but messages posted by users do not become public. Even an unregistered user can contact the administration in this way. Find a link on the home page of the site called "Feedback" or similar. Fill in the fields for the nickname, email address and message body, and then click the "Send" button.
Step 4
If the server is running, but the problem that has arisen made it impossible for you to log in using your username and password, contact the site owner by e-mail. If you do not know her, go to the website using the "Contacts" link. Send the message to the one of the addresses indicated there, which belongs to the server administrator or webmaster.
Step 5
The most difficult situation occurs if the server becomes unavailable and you did not know the administrator's email address in advance. Then contact by email or instant messaging with those community members whose coordinates you know. Tell them that the server has become unavailable, and ask them to tell the owner of the site or give you his coordinates. Surely at least one of them has the information necessary for this. Please note that if the administrator keeps his e-mail box on the same server as the site, then if this machine fails, mail will not be received either. You may need to use a different address or even a phone number.
