Websites on the Internet are created and disappear every day. The second happens for various reasons, and many of them do not depend on the webmaster: hacker attack, hosting failure, and so on. You probably feel sorry for your brainchild, which for some reason disappeared from the Internet, so restore the site. The easiest way to consider this process is using the example of the Joomla engine, as well as its component Akeeba Backup.
It is necessary

- - site backup;
- - Akeeba Backup component.
Instructions
Step 1
You must first update the Akeeba Backup component, for which you should go to the administration panel, check if there are updates. If there are updates, install them automatically. Then download from the official site Akeeba Backup, the link to which you see below in the "Additional Sources" section, Kickstart - a backup catalyst. Choose the latest version. After downloading the archive, unpack it.
Step 2
Prepare all files for recovery of the lost site. Download the latest backup of your site to your computer. This can be done by connecting to it via FTP and following the following link:
www / site_name / administrator / components / com_akeeba / backup /, where site_name is your site address.
Step 3
Before restoring the site, make sure you have a backup file with the extension.jpa, as well as the Kickstart folder from the archive that you downloaded. Then download from the PC to the root directory of the remote site all the contents of the Kickstart folder (specifically the contents, not the entire folder), as well as the backup file.
Step 4
Now you can restore the site. Enter www.site_name / Kickstart into the address bar of your browser. Scroll to the bottom of the web page for information about Akeeba Backup, click on the link below the text. A page will open where you need to click on the big green "Start" button without touching the settings.
Step 5
When the "Run Installer" button appears, click on it, then on the next page you will see a list. There should be “Yes” next to each line - make sure of this.
Step 6
It remains to click on the button called Next, when asked by the installer, and then at the end of the installation to confirm the removal of temporary installation files.
