The VKontakte website allows users to communicate with each other both through groups and meetings, and directly through private messages. The message history is saved and can be viewed later.

Step 1
The number of messages left by friends and not read by you on the social network "VKontakte" will be indicated on the left side of your personal page next to the item "My messages". To read them, go to this section and select the dialogue you are interested in. Please note that on the "Conversations" page, only the last message sent from each of the friends is indicated, if you select it, then the entire history of the correspondence will open in front of you.
Step 2
New unread messages are highlighted on the social network with a light blue background. This rule applies to both your messages and the letters of the interlocutor. Those. until you read a message sent by a friend in a standard way, it will be marked in blue on his page in the "Conversations" section.
Step 3
If you want to read a message, but do not want the interlocutor to know about it, select the "My messages" item, in the window that opens, find the message you are interested in, highlighted in blue. Do not click on it, instead click on the name and surname of the interlocutor indicated next to his photo. His personal page will open in front of you. On this page, right below the photo, find the item "Send message" and click on it. Then select "Go to dialogue with …" (name of the interlocutor) and read the entire history of the correspondence, including the last new message.
Step 4
Then you can go back to your page by selecting the appropriate item on the left. If you did everything correctly, the message you are interested in will not change the light blue background to white, and next to the item "My messages" the same number of unread messages will be indicated as before.
Step 5
If you use the cellular communication of the Megafon, Beeline or MTS operators, you can view the messages sent to you on the VKontakte page and respond to them directly from your mobile phone, even if it is not configured for Internet access. To do this, connect the notification in the "Settings" on your personal page: next to the item "Receive private messages from … (username) via SMS" put a check mark. To quickly respond to such a message, you need to send a reply SMS, starting with the numbers indicated at the end of the message received. Before using the service, check with your service provider about its cost.
