You may need to save server settings for various reasons. Depending on them, you need to choose special software that saves, transfers and installs server settings.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install on your computer a special program to save the image of the system installed on your server. This option is suitable both for reinstalling the server operating system and for transferring data to another computer. There are not so many really convenient programs for these purposes, one of the most popular and reliable is Acronis True Image Server. This program is not free, but it will allow you to save and transfer server settings with the greatest reliability. You can also use other similar programs, but it's best to first read the reviews of other users about them. Also check out BackUp Exec software.
Step 2
If you need to save the server settings for only the user databases with their names and passwords for logging in, use a utility called addusers.exe from the ResourceKit program. In "addusers.exe / d users.txt" write the user database to a file, use "Addusers.exe / c users.txt / p: lce" to add users to the server from your file. Please note that this method will only work depending on the purpose of saving server settings.
Step 3
Please note that you will not be able to completely save the server settings; you still have to specify some parameters manually. Most likely, for example, when you transfer settings, you will receive a non-working configuration of the server operating system with a bunch of bugs that you will have to fix longer than manually re-entering the settings.
Step 4
If, nevertheless, you decide to save the server configuration, do so based on the purpose of the save files. Keep in mind that most of the customizations are also part of the software installation process.
