Step 1
Decide on the option for the future local network. If among your devices there are laptops or other devices that support Wi-Fi data transmission technology, then the best solution is to install a Wi-Fi router. The main thing to note is that you need a router with LAN ports for wired connection of computers.
Step 2
Connect the router to the Internet cable provided by your ISP via the WAN or Internet port. Connect one of the computers or laptops to the router via the LAN port using a network cable. Open your router settings. Usually for this you need to enter //192.168.0.1 in the address bar of the browser. This is the standard IP address of the router, which can be changed if desired.
Step 3
Open the Internet connection settings on the router. Most often this item is called "Internet connection setup wizard". Here you need to make the settings that your provider specifically requires. The main parameters are:
IP address (static or dynamic).
Login and password.
Data transfer type.
Access of this connection for other devices and their number.
Step 4
If all devices will be connected using a cable, then you can stop at the third step. If there is a need to create a Wi-Fi access point, then open the "Wireless connection setup wizard". Enter the parameters of the future wireless network: specify its name, data encryption option during transmission and password.
