Any site is made attractive by certain modules and extensions. Depending on the CMS used by the user to manage the site, there are peculiarities of installing modules.
Instructions
Step 1
Download the required module for installation on the site. Make sure that the module you are downloading is suitable for the version of your site. New extensions, components and modules should be installed on the test version of the site and only after checking their functionality should be transferred to the main site.
Step 2
Open the admin panel.
Step 3
Go to the top menu section called "Extensions" and click "Install / Remove" if you are using the Joomla content management system. The extension manager page will open.
Step 4
Click "Download package file", in the window that opens, select the downloaded module package. Then click Download and Install. If the module does not load in this way, first try to upload the archive with the module to the site via Total Commander to the folder specified in the "Install from folder" line and click the "Install" button.
Step 5
Enter the location of the module if you know its URL. After the corresponding link appears in the line, click "Install". You have seen three ways to install a module on a Joomla site. Don't forget to enable the module in the module manager.
Step 6
Create a separate folder for modules on the site if you work with Drupal CMS. The full URL to the modules folder will look like this on the virtual server (Denver): D: WebServershomeyour.sitewwwsitesallmodules.
Step 7
Read the files with installation instructions and a description of the module's capabilities. They are usually located in the archive together with the module and have the txt extension. For example readme.txt. Some modules have their own peculiarities during installation, therefore it is strongly recommended to read these files.
Step 8
Copy the module folder to the..allmodules folder you created. On the "Manage" page, go to the "Site Structure" section and open the "Modules" tab. Turn on the installed module there.
Step 9
Set the settings you want. Go to the "Management" page in the "Users" tab and open "Access Rights". Distribute the access rights of each user to this module.
