Chat scripts are among the most popular programs for the site. It allows you to create an online communication environment. The most commonly used scripts are PHP chats, but there are programs written in Flash and other programming languages.

Instructions
Step 1
Download or purchase the chat script you want from one of the web programming resources. You can install a PHP or Perl script on almost any hosting, while not all providers support ASP. When loading, pay attention to the type of application, whether this script works with files or stores all data in the database.
Step 2
Unzip the downloaded script to your local server directory. If you don't have one, then you can install one of the free XAMMP programs or Denwer. This will help you configure and debug before uploading to hosting. After installation, carefully read the readme file that should come with your script.
Step 3
Open a browser and enter the local address to your application (https:// localhost / unzipped_script_folder). Most sophisticated programs have an installer, which makes configuration easier. Run the install.php file and follow the instructions that appear in your browser window, having previously created the corresponding database in PhpMyAdmin (item "Create database"). In the absence of this file, the script can be immediately launched in your browser window, but make sure that you have configured all its parameters in the appropriate files (the readme contains all the files that must be changed before starting).
Step 4
If everything works and displays correctly, then start uploading your unzipped script to the hosting via FTP manager (you can use Total Commander or CuteFTP). Create a database through the panel and make settings in the necessary files. The chat is installed.
