Instructions

Step 1

If you use the Internet browser "Opera", then you have the opportunity to deny access to sites using the settings of the program itself.

Step 2

Go to the "Tools" menu item located at the top of the browser ".

Step 3

In the window that opens, select the "Advanced" item, then click on the "Blocked content" item. In the window that opens, enter the addresses of the sites to which you want to deny access.

Step 4

For users who are well versed in Windows, there are other ways as well. In this case, we are interested in the “hosts” file, which is located in the directory under the following path: “C: Windowssystem32driversetc” (for the Windows 2000 operating system, the path to the directory is different - “C: WINNTSystem32driversetc”). To quickly search for a file, press the Win + R key combination, in the window that opens, copy the directory path specified above.

Step 5

Open the “hosts” file with standard notepad. In the text that opens, we are interested in the line where the word "localhost" is located. In this line we see an example - "127.0.0.1 localhost". In the future, to block, for example, the site "Vkontakte" or "Odnoklassniki", or any other site, just go to the end of the document and enter the following: 127.0.0.1 www.vkontake.ru, 127.1.0.1 www.odnoklasniki.ru or any other site that you want to deny access. A little explanation: the numbers on the left are nothing but the internal IP address of your computer, on the right is the name of the domain to which you are going to deny access.

Step 6

For the changes to take effect, you need to save the file (only with administrator rights) and then restart the computer. The next time you try to access blocked sites, the browser will ignore the connection with it, and the page loading will be interrupted.

Step 7

If the user from whom you are blocking sites knows what "hosts" is and what it is for, you should set a password for the folder in which it is stored. For this, there are many programs that can be found on the Internet.
