Often, the owners of their own Internet resources want to change the address of their site to some other one or get several addresses for it. Registration sites of the organization provide them with such an opportunity, often it can be done without even leaving home.
Instructions
Step 1
If you own the rights of a site administrator, then in the site control panel you can easily change its address. But first you need to purchase a new paid or free address. It can be added to the existing one or replaced with the existing one. Select the item you need in the "Site - Addresses" section. After choosing the required action, pay for the ordered service according to the tariffs of your registrar.
Step 2
If you purchase a new paid or free address for your site, it will exist side by side with your old address. It doesn't matter if it's your personal address or domain name. To see the site at the new address, enter it into the address bar of your browser. As soon as your site starts to exist on two addresses at once, by default the old address will be the main one, and the new one will be the sub-address. You can change this state of affairs in the administrator's control panel, in the system settings.
Step 3
In order for redirects between the main address and subaddresses to work correctly, make the necessary changes in DNS. If a WWW record exists on your site, then its type should be CNAME, and the content should be your site's address. If a WWW record does not exist in the domain, then the subaddress must have a WWW record, a CNAME record type, and contain the name of the subaddress.
Step 4
The service of changing the site address or adding a new one is not a cheap pleasure, and the deadline for completing an application can last up to 5 months, depending on the efficiency of your registration center. Therefore, first find out the tariffs for such services from your registrar and the deadlines for the execution of applications.
Step 5
Some registration firms, in order to change the resource address, require the personal presence of an administrator at the company's office with a passport and an application for a change of address. As a rule, such centers, instead of personal presence, also consider notarized letters from administrators with receipts for prepayment of ordered services.
