In addition to IP, many resources have a domain name. Sometimes the user needs to get complete information about the Internet resource of interest to him.

The need to collect data about a network resource usually arises in the event of any concerns - for example, if the site owners are suspected of fraud, distribution of illegal content, etc. The information about the server on which the site is located usually contains the administrator's contact information. If you have a domain name, you can find out all the necessary information about it using the service https://www.ip-1.ru/whois/. Enter the site address without http and www, click the "Get whois information" button. You will receive complete information on the domain, including contact information.

Sometimes the user only knows the ip-address. To find out the domain name, use this service: https://url-sub.ru/tools/web/hostip/. Paste ip into the search box, click the "Learn" button. You can find out the ip-address of a resource using the ping command. For example, you want to know the address of the above service. Open Command Prompt: Start - All Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt. In the window that opens, enter the ping url-sub.ru command and press Enter. In the first line that opens, in square brackets, the ip-address you are interested in will be indicated.

To configure the mail program, the user may need the name of the server for incoming and outgoing mail. Usually, the outgoing mail address consists of the name of the SMTP protocol and the domain name of the mail service. The POP3 protocol is used for incoming mail. For example, for the popular mail.ru mail service, the server names will be: smtp.mail.ru for outgoing messages and pop3.mail.ru for incoming messages. In some cases, the user may be interested in the history of the Internet resource. For domains of the *.ru zone, the history can be found here: https://stat.reg.ru/history_search?tld=ru. Checking the history is useful when buying a domain - it is possible that the domain you want to buy has a bad reputation, is in the ban lists, etc. Therefore, when buying or registering a domain, be sure to check its history.
