Each computer gets access to the Internet from the provider through the server on which the client is authorized and where his data (password, login) are stored. The name and address of the server can be obtained from your provider, for which you just need to call him on the phone and make a verbal request. You can also contact the administrators of the provider by email.

There is another way to find out the name and address of the server. To do this, go to the start menu of your computer. Select the Run command. In the window that appears in the command line, type the command: ping xxxxx.dyndns.org –t. You will see the IP address of your server in a digital image and its name.

Separate servers are often created for online computer games. On the website of each game there are corresponding recommendations for their creation. The server gives extended rights to the player, provides the ability to simulate the game himself.

You can determine the server of the mail site by your e-mail. It consists of two parts: account [email protected] (com), where the part after the @ sign is the name of the server, and the letters after the period determine its location.

To transfer a large amount of information over the Internet, it is possible to create a separate server operating over the FTP protocol. To do this, simply download a ready-made utility from the Internet, install it on your computer, create a set of accounts in it, specify the home directory (space on your hard disk) and define the rights of users who will use this server. In this case, the server administrator determines the owner of the computer (or the one who will be registered by the administrator), and the server address will be the computer's IP address.
