The Google mapping service offers users the ability to host their interactive maps on websites. In this case, you can embed both a simple map and a driving route or local search. Mark your favorite places on maps and post them on personal blogs, or get directions to get to your office quickly and easily.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to Google.com and go to the "Maps" section by clicking on the corresponding icon at the top of the page.
Step 2
If you want to place a map with a specific address marked on it, enter it in the search box and press the Enter key.
Step 3
If you need to build a route, for example, from the nearest metro station, then go to the "Routes" tab at the top left of the page. Enter the starting point of the route in line A and the destination in line B. Click on the "Get Directions" button.
Step 4
Make sure that the map that you would like to place on your site is displayed in the browser window. Find the button "Link to this page" and click on it. The link is located near the top-left corner of the map and is a gray button with chain links.
Step 5
Two lines will appear in the pop-up window: "link for e-mail messages" and "HTML code to add to the site." You guessed it, you need the second line.
Step 6
If the map displayed on the page is centered and fully satisfies the scales and sizes you need, copy the contents of the line and add it to the HTML code of your site.
Step 7
If you would like to adjust the image, click on the link "Configuring and previewing the embedded map". In the window that opens, you can select the size of the map and the scale of the displayed area.
Step 8
Copy the HTML shown at the bottom of the page and place it on your site.
