Some users are not satisfied that the VKontakte social network prohibits the use of a foreign language when specifying personal information. For example, it is not possible to write a name in English. However, there are some tricks to get around this limitation.

Step 1
Re-register at vk.com. When entering data about yourself on VKontakte, you must write your first and last name in English. In this case, at the bottom of the page, you can select English as the main language. In this case, the system will consider you a foreigner and save your name in English after registration. For greater efficiency, you can access the site through an American or English proxy server using one of the special sites. As soon as you get access to the page, all the necessary information can be rewritten in Russian, leaving only the first and last name in English.
Step 2
Write to VKontakte technical support, if you do not want to lose the existing page, with a request to change the name. For more persuasiveness, you should write a message in competent English and indicate a good reason for changing your name. For example, an acquaintance in Russia registered you, the right to use the page was transferred to you, etc. But in most cases, the administration allows you to leave a name in English only if it is really your own and is difficult to translate into Russian.
Step 3
Purchase one of the available first and last name pages in English. Several years ago, the VKontakte social network allowed specifying information about oneself in almost any language, and now some users are putting up pages for sale with their first and last names in the Latin alphabet.
