Windows operating systems use the TCP / IP protocol by default, which shouldn't be difficult to configure on a home network. But when it comes to setting up computers in an entire office network, the number of computers of which sometimes exceeds a hundred, it is more justified to use the DHCP protocol, which is responsible for the automatic allocation of address space.

Step 1
First you need to install a DHCP server that will be responsible for distributing IP within the network. Go to the "Start" -> "Programs" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Server Settings". Select "Network Services", go to the DHCP subsection. Click on the "Set DHCP" button and then return to "Network Services". Click on "Composition". This section manages the services required by the server. Select DHCP and click Apply.
Step 2
Go to Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools again. Go to the DHCP item that appears after installation. The Server Management Console will appear, divided into two parts. The left side displays the name of the machine and its network address, and the right side displays its current status. Initially, the right column says "No connection".
Step 3
Right click on the server and select the New Realm menu. At this point, you need to define all the parameters of the newly created DHCP. Enter a name on the web and provide a short description.
Step 4
Set the start, end IP, and subnet mask, which will define the range of addresses automatically assigned to computers on the network. If there are devices in the office that have static IP, then in the next paragraph, click on the "Add exceptions" button.
Step 5
Set the parameters for how long the selected client retains the issued address. If you want your clients to receive the router's address along with DNS when connecting, click on the "Yes, configure settings now" button.
Step 6
In the next windows, specify the address of your router, DNS and WINS server. Then check "Yes, I want to activate the area now." Right-click the server name again and select Run in the All Tasks item. The new server is up and ready to go.
