Opera is a popular and fast browser that people use all over the world. You can make this browser the default in several ways - using the dialog box of the application itself, another browser, or system settings.

Instructions
Step 1
On first launch, the browser asks the user: “Opera is not installed as the default browser. Install?". If you do not agree, then on subsequent launches this dialog box will appear again. Click the "Yes" button and the browser will be installed as the main application for surfing the Internet.

Opera can also be made the main one using the settings. To do this, go to the "Tools" item, then - "Settings" - "Advanced" - "Programs", select the checkbox "Set as default".

You can also change the main surfing application using standard Windows tools through the control panel. To do this, go to the "Start" menu, select "Control Panel". Next, select the item "Add or Remove Programs". On the left, left-click on the link "Select default programs".

Local copies of web pages on your hard drive can also be opened using Opera. To do this, select the desired file with the right mouse button, go to "Open with" - "Select program", where find and select Opera. Do not forget to check the box "Use the selected program for all files of this type."

On Linux, Opera is selected by default in a similar way. On startup, the browser will ask if you want to allow it to be the default. You can select the required application in the graphical shell settings ("System Settings" - "Default Applications" - "Web Browser"). These settings are similar in KDE and Gnome.
