The world of modern computer technology presents us with a huge number of devices that can facilitate the creation and configuration of our own local network. If you plan to combine more than two devices, then you will definitely need a switch, router or router. Purchase one of the above devices and install it so that you can connect all the required computers to it. You may need several switches to create a large local area network.
Step 2
Connect all laptops and computers of the future local network to the device of your choice. If you have printers that can receive information via a network cable, you can also connect them to your local network. If you need to create an internal network using several switches, then remember a simple rule: never connect switches using a ring method. Those. do not allow a circuit in which three switches would be connected to each other.

For stable operation of the internal local network and fast uninterrupted access to shared resources, you need to independently configure the network configuration on each computer. Choose any laptop or computer on the network. Open your local area connection settings. Go to the properties of the Internet Protocol TCP / IPv4. Enter the IP address in the corresponding field. Press Tab. This will allow the operating system to automatically issue the subnet mask for this connection. If your local network will have a router or router that provides access to the Internet, then specify its IP address in the "Preferred DNS server" and "Default gateway" fields.
