Users have different requirements for the quality of Internet access. Among them there are also those who are unhappy with the data transfer rate and want to increase it. This can be done in various ways.
Instructions
Step 1
If you still use Dial-Up Internet access, make sure that your modem is designed for a data transfer rate of 56 Kb / s. If it is less, change the modem, or switch to a different connection method. At present, in almost every region of Russia, mobile operators have sharply reduced their subscription fees for unlimited access to the Internet, and therefore it is now unprofitable to use an analog modem.
Step 2
If in the city or town where you live, your mobile operator has implemented 3G equipment, but this has not affected the speed of Internet access, then you are using an outdated phone or modem without support for working in third-generation networks. Change it, and at least with some base stations, the data transfer rate will increase dramatically. If your operator has not yet implemented 3G, ask if other operators in your area have done so, and, if necessary, switch to using the services of one of them. Note, however, that at a higher speed you will probably consume more traffic. and therefore switch to an unlimited tariff if you have such an opportunity. Also make sure that the access point (APN) is set correctly: not WAP, but Internet.
Step 3
Please note that unlimited tariffs from mobile operators imply a decrease in access speed after reaching a certain threshold of the amount of transmitted and received data. After reaching this threshold, data transmission is still not charged, but the speed decreases, and is restored only when the next hour, day or month comes (depending on the operator). The amount of data, after which the speed decrease occurs, depends on the unlimited tariff you have chosen. If you are willing to pay more, if only the speed decreases less often, change it. If you do not want to change the tariff forever, use the paid options of a one-time extension of the speed provided by some operators.
Step 4
Look at the signal strength indicator located on one of the top corners of your phone display. If reception is unstable, the data transfer rate drops. Sometimes, in order for the signal level to increase, it is enough to move the device just half a meter. If your phone allows you to connect an external antenna, take this opportunity. There are also parabolic reflector designs for USB modems.
Step 5
The speed of Internet access via ADSL or local network also depends on the tariff plan. Check with your provider to find out which of them corresponds to the transfer rate of incoming and outgoing data. Choose a tariff plan that suits you both in terms of cost and speed. Inquire about the ratio of speed and cost of access from other providers. If any of them have the best option, in your opinion, change the provider, but before that, be sure to find and read reviews about it.
Step 6
When accessing via a local network, as well as when connecting to ADSL via a modem router, it is quite possible that you are not using the maximum capacity of your tariff plan due to a network card. Check if it is 10 Mbps. If so, replace it with 100Mbps.
