Getting the program
The Norton Internet Security package can be either purchased from a computer software store or downloaded from the official website of the developers. At the same time, downloading the application can be done free of charge, and the installed software product can be used for 30 days. This will allow you to familiarize yourself with the anti-virus system and make a decision on the need to use it.
To begin installation, go to the Norton official website. To download the latest version of the package, go to the Downloads section, which presents several products. Select Norton Internet Security from the suggested solutions and click Free Trial. After that, click the button of the same name again to download the program.
Installation
Insert the software disc into the computer's disc drive if you are installing from store-bought media. If you downloaded the setup file, run it from the directory where you downloaded it. The installer of the anti-virus system will appear in front of you. Click Next.
Enter the license key, if required. If you are using the trial version of the application, you will not need to enter a numeric combination. If installing from disc, print the code on the back of the box or on the media itself (depending on the software version). Click Next.
Accept the terms of the license agreement, which will be displayed when you click on the corresponding link in the installer window. Accept the terms of use and click Accept & Install. Wait until the installation of the program is completed and a notification about the end of the installation appears.
To launch the program, use the desktop shortcut that was created after installation. You can also double-click the Norton icon located in the Windows notification area (lower right corner of the bottom Start menu bar). To run the application in Windows 8, go to the Metro home screen and click the Norton Internet Security item that is created. You will see the main window of the application through which the functions of the program are controlled. To start the procedure for checking your computer, click the "Scan Now" button. To configure the configuration and behavior of the program, click "Options" at the top of the window.
