Disabling password protection for logins on Microsoft Server 2003 and using the automatic logon feature is quite convenient for users, but can significantly reduce the security of your computer.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button, and go to the "Run" dialog in order to enable the automatic login function. Type regedit in the "Open" line and confirm the launch of the Registry Editor utility by clicking OK. Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinlogon branch and double-click the key named DefaultUserName.
Step 2
Type your account name and save your change by clicking OK. After that, open the parameter named DefaultPassword with a double click of the mouse and type your password and confirm the correctness of the entry by clicking the OK button.
Step 3
If there is no key named DefaultPassword, create one. To do this, open the "Edit" menu of the upper service panel of the editor window and select the "Create" command. Select the "String Parameter" subcommand and type DefaultPassword on the "Name" line. Confirm your choice by pressing the Enter function key and double-click on the created parameter. Type your password in the "Change string parameter" line and save your change by clicking OK.
Step 4
Once again open the "Edit" menu of the upper service panel of the Registry Editor window and again select the "New" command. select the "String Parameter" subcommand and type AutoAdminLogon in the "Name" line. Confirm the execution of the selected action by pressing the function key Enter, and open the created parameter by double-clicking the mouse. Type the value 1 in the line "Change string parameter" and save the change by clicking OK.
Step 5
Exit the Registry Editor utility and return to the main Start menu. Go to Shutdown and type any shutdown reason on the Note line. Confirm the shutdown of the computer by clicking OK and make sure that password protection for the login is disabled.
