Instructions

Step 1

Launch the Windows main menu, open the "Control Panel". Click on the Windows Firewall icon and open the Advanced tab in the firewall dialog box. Click ICMP Settings and uncheck the box next to the Allow incoming echo request line.

Step 2

Click "Run" and in the "Open" field enter mmc, click the enter key. Go to File - Add / Remove Snap-in and check the IP Security and Policy Management and Local computer checkboxes, then exit by clicking Close.

Step 3

Call the IP Security Policies settings window by right-clicking in the left column of the console. Use the Manage IP filter Lists function and select All ICMP Traffic in the window that opens.

Step 4

Go to the Manage Filter Actions tab, click on the Next button and specify Block next to the Filter Action Name line. Click Next and do the same operation in the next dialog box. Click Close to end the dialog.

Step 5

Use the Create IP Security Policy command in the special context menu. Call it by right-clicking on the left column. Skip the first settings window of the New Policy Wizard, and in the second enter Block Ping in the Name field. Click Next and uncheck the box next to Activate the default responce rule. Go to the final window and uncheck the box next to Edit Properties. Apply the selected changes by clicking the Finish button.

Step 6

Select the Add option in the IPSec window. Click Next and in front of All network connections apply the checkbox. Go to the next window with the Next button and enable the All ICMP Traffic function. Then turn on Block and confirm your choice. Right-click on the context menu of the created policy in the MMC console and select the Assign command. Now ping detection by the system will be disabled.
