Each computer connected to the Internet has its own numeric identifier - an IP address. It is used when accessing various internet resources or game servers. You can find out this address using specialized services for determining IP.

Step 1
Go to any service to check the IP address. Among the most popular and convenient resources are Russian 2ip.ru and foreign What Is My IP. Go to the page of the selected resource in your browser window.

After the service has finished loading, you will immediately see your address on the page, which is a set of numbers separated by dots into 4 sections. You can report this IP, for example, when creating a game server or opening a website for which your computer acts as a server.

These services also allow you to display some other data about your computer. So, you can see the version of the operating system you are using, the browser and the current location, up to the city in which you are at the moment. You may also be shown the name of your ISP.

Recognizing the real IP address on one of these resources is often complicated by the use of proxies that are designed to hide your current address. In order for the IP to be correctly determined, do not forget to disable the proxy settings if they were previously activated by you in your browser.

You can also use these resources to test your network connection settings. Click on the field "Tests" - "Speed Test" and wait until the desired interface appears. Click on the Test button to find out the speed of the connection you are using.

If you want to hide your real IP address, you can resort to using proxy servers. There are many resources out there that offer free lists of these servers to help make Internet use more anonymous. A proxy server is a bunch of IP: port, which must be entered in the settings of your browser through the corresponding menu item.

For example, proxy activation in Firefox is performed using the "Settings" - "Advanced" - "Network" section in the program menu. Enter your proxy data in the fields provided and save the changes by clicking the "Ok" button, then restart the browser to start using it.
