Adding a new user account on Windows Server 2003 is a common administration task. Therefore, this problem is solved by standard means of the system without the use of additional software.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the context menu of the "My Computer" desktop element by right-clicking and select the "Control" item. Expand the Computer Management link on the left side of the window that opens and go to the Local Users section. Expand the "Users" node and open the context menu by right-clicking on the empty space on the right side of the same window.
Step 2
Specify the item "New User" and type the name of the account to be created and the password in the corresponding fields of the new dialog box. Uncheck the box “Require password change” and mark the checkboxes in the lines “Prohibit user changing password” and “Password does not expire”. Confirm the execution of the selected actions by clicking the "Create" button.
Step 3
To add a new Active Directory user, you need to open the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "Control Panel" item. Expand the Administrative Tools link and expand the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.
Step 4
Call the context menu of the folder to which the account will be added by right-clicking in the right part of the window and select the "Create" command. Select the sub-item "User" and type the personal data of the created user in the appropriate fields.
Step 5
Type the selected user login name in the line of the same name and specify the UPN suffix in the drop-down menu. Confirm saving the changes made by clicking the "Next" button, and type the password in the line with this name. Confirm your choice of password by re-entering the same value in the next line and click the "Finish" button.
Step 6
Return to the main Start menu to use the alternative method and go to the Run dialog. Type cmd on the Open line and run the command line utility by clicking OK.
Step 7
Enter dsadd user username -samidSAM username -pwd user password | * in the command interpreter text box and confirm the selected task by pressing Enter.
