Instructions

Step 1

Look for a special file in the Outlook directories that should contain all data stored in the pst format. You need to copy it and save it in a separate folder. First of all, it is necessary to start recovering deleted messages.

Step 2

Then download a special program from the Internet called Free Hex Editor XVI32. It will help you edit your pst file. Run the downloaded program and open the file you need in it. Cells with a set of letters and numbers will appear before your eyes. You need to count the seventh cell in the top row and zero the values to 13. You must find the symbols corresponding to these cells in the table on the right, left-click on them and press the space bar. After the right cells are zeroed, you will see the number 20 in the left cells.

Step 3

Save your changes. Then you need to find a so called utility like SCANPST. EXE in the Program Files directories. It is provided during installation along with Outlook. Then run this utility - the Inbox Repair Tool window should open. You click Browse and specify the path to the saved pst file.

Step 4

Start the recovery process by clicking the Start button. Next, you will see a window that should warn you that the file was scanned and errors were found in it. Then you need to click Repair to repair the database. It remains to click "OK" and open Outlook again. Now the deleted messages will appear in the mail again. There is another option for recovering deleted emails.

Step 5

If you have the latest version of Microsoft Outlook 2010, then you need to open the folder that contained the "Inbox", "Deleted Items" or "Outbox" letters. Opening the "Folder" tab, select "Recover Deleted Items". Then the program will display a list of notifications that need to be restored. You must choose the letter that you need. Click the appropriate file recovery button.
