Step 1
The Law on the Mass Media of the Russian Federation regulates the issues of registering sites as mass media. It approved the necessary documents and describes the registration procedure. Decide on the title, frequency and volume of the publication. These data are necessary to apply for registration of the site as a media outlet. The name must have been original. Prepare a website layout, in some cases you may need it for registration. Using surnames, brands, trade names in the title, obtain consent to use from the copyright holders.
Step 2
Pay the media registration fee. Do it at any bank, both in cash and non-cash. Take a receipt for payment (or a payment order for cashless payments). The receipt must be attached to the application.
Step 3
Prepare the following documents. If you are an individual entrepreneur or an individual, you will need a copy of your passport certified by a notary. If the founder is a legal entity, an extract from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (Unified State Register of Legal Entities) is required, no more than a month ago. A copy of the extract should be notarized.
Step 4
After collecting the documents and paying the fee, apply to the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications. If your publication will be of regional importance, you must submit an application to the representative office at the regional level. The application will be reviewed within one month. The site will receive the status of a media after state registration and receipt of the relevant certificate.
Step 5
The status of the media gives the owner the right to obtain accreditation for various events, to receive information from state authorities, local self-government. In addition, the media receive state support and benefits in paying insurance premiums.
