In recent years, mobile operators have dramatically reduced the cost of unlimited Internet access. This innovation has affected users of both mobile phones and modems connected to the USB port.
Instructions
Step 1
Please note that the tariffs for unlimited Internet access, designed for modems, imply a slightly higher subscription fee compared to similar tariffs for telephones. But the conditions for their provision are also softer: the threshold of consumed traffic, after which the speed decreases, is much higher, or is completely absent. In many cases it will not be possible to "deceive" the operator by replacing the SIM-card intended for the phone into the modem, or vice versa. If you want to use unlimited Internet on your computer at “telephone” tariffs, connect your phone to the computer via Bluetooth, but in this case, you will have to accept that the speed limit after reaching the threshold will also be “telephone”.
Step 2
Make sure you are in your home region and access via internet APN.
Step 3
If you use a modem connected to a mobile operator MTS, choose one of the following unlimited tariffs: - with a decrease in speed to 64 Kb / s after 250 MB of traffic per day (450 rubles per month);
- with a decrease in speed to the same value after 500 MB of traffic per day (750 rubles per month);
- with a decrease in speed to the same value after 1 GB of traffic per day (1350 rubles per month);
- without reducing the speed at all (2990 rubles per month) To connect or disconnect any of these tariffs in Linux, run a terminal program, for example, minicom, find the port to which the modem is connected, select the correct speed and parity, and then type a line from the ATDT directive and one of the USSD commands, separated by a space. In Winodws, run the software package supplied with the modem, select the dialing mode in it and enter one of the commands directly (without the ATDT directive). These commands are as follows: connecting the first tariff - * 111 * 2180 * 1 #, the second - * 111 * 2188 * 1 #, the third - * 111 * 575 * 1 #, the fourth - * 111 * 748 * 1 #. To disable any of the tariffs, use a similar command, in which the number 1 before the "hash" is replaced by the number 2.
Step 4
The Beeline operator provides an unlimited tariff for Internet access from a USB modem at a price of 395 rubles per month. For its connection, you will also have to pay 100 rubles once. If you download more than 15 gigabytes of information per month, the speed will drop to 32 Kb / s by the end of the month. To connect it, use the USSD command * 110 * 0802 #, to disconnect it, switch back to the tariff with per megabyte payment using the command * 110 * 7094 #. For each new connection, you will be charged 100 rubles again.
Step 5
The operator "Megafon" has five unlimited tariffs for Internet access, in which the speed drops to 64 Kb / s until the end of the month after one and a half, two and a half, four, eight and sixteen gigabytes of consumed traffic. In the first of them, moreover, it was initially artificially limited to 512 Kb / s. Their cost is 220, 500, 800, 1100 and 1400 rubles per month. To connect them, use, respectively, USSD-commands * 236 * 1 #, * 236 * 5 #, * 236 * 2 #, * 236 * 3 #, * 236 * 4 #, to disconnect - the same commands, in which instead of format * 236 * N # the format * 236 * N * 0 # is used.
