Reinstallation of the browser can be done in two ways: with saving your personal settings and without saving. There is a fundamental difference when reinstalling these methods.
Instructions
Step 1
First, uninstall the old version of the browser if for some reason it does not work or you do not need to save all bookmarks and saved passwords. To do this, go to the "Control Panel", the item on uninstalling programs. Find your browser in the list, uninstall it. After that, it is recommended to go to the system folder where the program was installed. By default, this is the local C drive, the Program files folder. Delete the folder named your browser to get rid of all your data. Sometimes you need administrator rights to delete from the system folder.
Step 2
Download the new version of the browser convenient for you on the Internet. Install it by going through all the installation steps. Read the terms of the agreement on the use of the program, confirm your consent. Select the location where you want to install the browser (for example, a specific local drive, if there are several, the folder in which the program will be located). When installing, some browsers offer to additionally install affiliate programs. If you do not need them, then do not put a tick in front of their names.
Step 3
After installation, open your browser and check if it works. If everything works flawlessly, use the program as you see fit. If the browser does not work, try installing it again, completely going through all the steps of uninstallation and installation.
Step 4
Download the new version of the browser without deleting the old one if you want to keep all passwords and bookmarks unchanged. After downloading, install the browser in the same location as the old version. Thus, you will be able to install the same browser, but in an updated form. In some cases, this fixes flaws, bugs and glitches in the program.
Step 5
Users of the Google Chrome browser can reinstall it using their Google account to save passwords and bookmarks. To do this, you must first synchronize. To do this, go to the settings of your browser, the "personal" tab, the item "enter Chrome". Enter your Google account details. Click the sync all button. You can then uninstall your browser through the Control Panel in the Start Menu. Download the new version of Google Chrome, install it, go to the options and go through the procedure to sync with your Google account. All settings, bookmarks and passwords will return to their places. After synchronization, it is recommended to turn off and turn on the browser again.
