It is sometimes necessary to hide the link behind the text to give your document or website a better look and clarity. And the text should clarify the content of the hidden link. To perform this operation, there is a very simple and intuitive tool: "Insert Hyperlink".

Instructions

Step 1

If the document you are preparing opens in one of the Microsoft Office applications, use the Insert Hyperlink command. This can be done by following the path "Menu" - "Insert" - "Hyperlink". The same result, but faster, can be obtained by left-clicking on the corresponding icon in the format bar.

Step 2

A window will open in which you need to fill in the lines "Address" and "Text". Indicate the location of your link in the "Address" line. If you want to use a file located in one of the folders on your computer as a link, select it using the built-in explorer. Display the text content of the link in the "Text" line. For example, referring to a site about dogs of a certain breed, you can write "All about Sheltie." In addition to the specified lines, you can fill in the "Hint" field. Its content will be displayed on the screen when you hover your mouse over the hyperlink you created. After filling in all the lines, click "OK". The hyperlink has been created and will appear in blue with an underline in the document.

Step 3

A similar algorithm of actions must be performed to insert a link under the text on the pages of your site. Now, using the visual editor, it is not at all necessary to be an expert in the html language and independently enter commands into the text content of the page. In the editor menu there is an item "Insert hyperlink" (the icon on the panel is also very similar to the one described above - two chain links). By selecting this item from the menu or by clicking on the corresponding icon, you will open a window similar to the one already described. By filling in the address, text and hint values, you will get the desired result. Links on the page can be made both external (to other sites) and internal (links to the home page of your site).

Step 4

If, nevertheless, for a number of reasons, you do not want to use the visual editor, edit the page content manually. The tag (without spaces) is responsible for inserting links. The required entry will look something like this: All about Sheltie.
