Very often people using OpenVPN have complaints that special Internet services show the real DNS addresses of their provider. Therefore, the question of hiding these addresses becomes a rather urgent problem for such users. This procedure is quite simple and does not require any special knowledge of the network.

Step 1
If the fact that your native DNS server can be disclosed by outsiders is critical to you, then use one of the methods to mask it. The first way is to substitute your own address for someone else's. To do this, follow this link (or find the list of dns servers yourself) https://theos.in/windows-xp/free-fast-public-dns-server-list/ and select one of the servers. You can also use a fictitious address, but in this case the Internet will not fully function until you join one of the VPNs.
Step 2
Then change your DNS server. Open the "Control Panel" in Windows, click on the "Network Connections" shortcut. A list of your Internet connections will open, select an active connection, right-click on the shortcut and click on the "Properties" field. This will open the settings for your network connection. In this window select "Internet Protocol version IPv4" and click the "Properties" button again. Another window will open with settings for various addresses (IP and the DNS we need).
Step 3
Check the box next to "Use the following DNS servers". After that, the input field will become active (it will change color from gray to white). In this field, enter the previously found or fictitious DNS server, remembering to put periods in the right places. Also, be sure to write down your native DNS before changing them. You may still need them.
Step 4
Another method of masking DNS is to use a special program, which is much easier than the first method. To do this, download a program called Proxifier 2.91 by following this link https://proxybox.name/Proxifier.rar. After installation, run Proxifier and go to the "Option" category at the top of the utility window, click on "Name resolution". Uncheck the "Choose the mod automatically" checkbox and select "Remotely". Insert the required socks / proxy. Do not forget to check your DNS masking with the service
