If you have heard a melody on the radio or on the Internet, but do not know what it is called, you can always try to find this song. To do this, use search engines, databases of audio files or programs that will help you recognize the desired track.
Instructions
Step 1
To search for a melody, go to any resource that contains a database of various songs presented for review. If you know a music artist, enter his name in the resource search box and press Enter. Among the results obtained, listen to the songs and find the one you were looking for, and then, if necessary, download it.
Step 2
If you don't know the name of the song or the artist, try using a word search. Remember a phrase or a few words from a song, and then enter your query on the search engine page. When specifying a phrase, do not forget to put quotation marks so that the system searches for this particular sequence of words. For example, if the phrase “don't leave, I will forgive everything” sounded in the song, the search query would look like this: ““don't leave, I will forgive everything, “find the song”.
Step 3
To search for a song by specific words, use the search operator AND or &. So, if you are looking for a song where the words "wait", "believe", "do not go", "forgive" were, then the search query will look like this: "Wait AND believe AND" do not go "AND forgive.
Step 4
If you still can't find the melody you want, use the music recognition utility. Among the most popular programs are Tunatic or Sound Hound. You can also perform ring tone recognition using the Shazam utility for cell phones and tablets. Download and install the required program, then connect the microphone to your computer and click the "Start" button. Bring the sound source to the microphone and hold it for a few seconds so that the program can recognize the melody. After that, among the results displayed in the program window, select your melody.
