The world of Minecraft is unusually interesting and exciting, but at the same time it is fraught with many dangers in the form of various hostile mobs lying in wait in virtually any dark corner and eager to take away the gamer's virtual life. It is easier to defeat these monsters together with a friend - and in general, "pair" gameplay will be many times more interesting than a single one. How do you set up the game so that you can play it with a like-minded friend?

Step 1
To organize such a game, several options are possible for you. The most accessible is to create your own server (and then just tell a friend his IP - by the way, in the same way you can admit virtually any number of friends there). To get started, download the installation file to the server from any resource dedicated to plugins and software for Minecraft (for example, Bukkit).
Step 2
Make a folder on your computer desktop for the future playground. Create a text document in it and copy the line with the settings for a 32- or 64-bit system (depending on the technical characteristics of your Windows version) from the configuration file of the installation program, pasting them between the letter C and the dot before the jar extension. In the window that appears, click "Yes". Re-save the text file under the name Start.bat (then delete the source) and run it. The server and the world on it will begin to generate.
Step 3
Make the required settings on the server. Then start your Minecraft, select the Add server option there and in the lines that open, enter the name of your future playground and its IP. In order to find out the latter, in the start menu of the computer, find the line "Run" (if you have XP) or "Files and folders" (for Windows 7). Enter cmd there, and on the console that opens, enter ipconfig and press Enter. Copy the address that opens there (the one through which the Internet works) into the above menu line of "Minecraft".
Step 4
However, this will not be the IP that your friend will need to log into your server. In order to find out the desired combination of numbers, go to the corresponding resource for identifying network addresses (for example, www.2p.ru), press the enter key, and you will only have to copy and transfer the highlighted set of characters to your friend.
Step 5
If you don't want to mess with building a server, get a network cable that physically connects your buddy and your computers. Open your "Minecraft", wait for the creation of a new game world there, then press Esc, and in the menu that appears after this, select the "Open for the network" option. Change the gameplay settings to your liking, allow network access with the corresponding button on the screen. Then start Minecraft again (without closing the previous one), go there under a different nickname, select the game on the network, rewrite the IP displayed at the same time and then tell it to your friend.
Step 6
You can pair up with a friend over a local network even without a cable if you install the free Hamachi software. Download its installer (as well as the installation file for the server), run it. Rewrite the highlighted IP, then click on the button that starts the process of creating a new network, and enter your own nickname in the field of its identifier, enter the password and click on the "Create" inscription.
Step 7
Unpack the archive with the server, run the Start file corresponding to the bitness of your operating system, open server.properties and enter the nickname that was specified when creating the network in Hamachi on the line with motd after "equals". Run this program, create a server through it and enter the previously saved IP. Give it to your friend along with the password. Turn on the game and enjoy it for a couple.
