Counter Strike: Source is a popular online game. With its help, you can organize an online battle over a local or Internet network. To do this, just use the menu items of the game or install a special program.
Instructions
Step 1
To start the server by means of the game, you need to make settings. Open the Counter Strike game and wait for it to launch.
Step 2
In the main menu of the screen that appears, select the "New game" item in the lower left part of the monitor. In the menu that appears, select the map you would like to play on and click "Create" (Start). You can also select server settings from the Settings tab. Here you can set the amount of money with which the player appears from the very beginning, as well as the time given to buy weapons.
Step 3
Once the game is created, you can invite the rest of the players from your local network by giving them your local IP address.
Step 4
If you want to invite players from the Internet, press the "~" key in the upper left corner of the keyboard. This button is located first under Esc. In the menu that appears, enter the query sv_lan 0 and press Enter. Share your IP address with other players in the format address: 27015. You can find out the IP address of your computer using one of the online services for determining it.
Step 5
You can also create your own server using the HldsUpdateTool utility. Download this program and run its installation. During the installation process, you will be prompted to select a folder where the server files will be installed. Select or create an arbitrary directory and remember the path to it. In the list of game regions, select Europe.
Step 6
Change to the directory where the program was installed. Run the hldsupdatetool.exe file and wait until the program is updated.
Step 7
Create a text document on your desktop and change its extension from.txt to.bat. You can add a text document through the context menu by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting "New" - "Text Document".
Step 8
Open the resulting file with Notepad (File - Open With) and enter the following code:
Start / wait hldsupdatetool.exe
Start / wailt hldsupdatetool.exe –command update –game “Counter-Strike Source” –dir.
Exit
Save changes and double click on the created document. A command prompt will open and the server files will start downloading. After that go to the server directory and select Start.bat. The installation of the program is complete.
