After a certain amount of time actively using the computer, it acquires a mass of additional useful or simply entertaining programs. A very large proportion of these add-ons during installation add themselves to the list of programs that must be loaded at system startup. As a result, the OS becomes overgrown with various processes that inhibit productivity, like the bottom of a tanker with algae and shells. The startup list needs to be cleaned up periodically.

Step 1
Management of a large part of the configuration functions of the Windows operating system is placed in a separate utility. Among these settings is the one you need to edit the startup list. The executable file of this utility is located in the OS system folder at / WINDOWS / pchealth / helpctr / binaries. However, there is no need to search for and launch it from there - it is easier to use the standard program launch dialog. This means that your first action should be to call this dialog - click the "Start" button and select "Run" from the menu. Or you can just press the WIN + R key combination.
Step 2
In the dialog input field, type (or copy and paste from here) the msconfig command. Then click the "OK" button or press the Enter key. With this action you will launch the required utility.
Step 3
In the window that opens with the title "System Settings" go to the "Startup" tab. It lists all the programs that are activated during the startup of the operating system, and a checkbox is placed opposite each one. By default, all checkboxes are checked. You need to uncheck the program that you want to remove from the startup list. There are also buttons "Enable all" and "Disable all".
Step 4
After marking the list with the help of checkboxes, commit the changes by pressing the "OK" button. The operating system will display a message stating that the new settings will take effect only after reboot and will offer you a choice to reboot now, or leave it until the next time you turn on the computer. Choose the option that suits you best.
