VKontakte is one of the most popular social networks in the Russian-speaking Internet space. Unfortunately, the personal pages of users of this resource are often hacked by hackers to send spam. To avoid this, you need to be able to protect your account.

Step 1
Use a complex password when registering on the VKontakte social network. Alternate letters with numbers and other keyboard characters ("No.", "%", "*", "@", "&", "!", "=", "+"). Use uppercase and lowercase letters. The more complex your password is, the lower the likelihood that an attacker will be able to guess it manually.
Step 2
Do not use your password for e-mail or other resource on the social network. Otherwise, if you hack the VKontakte page, you risk losing all your accounts.
Step 3
Try to change your password to a new one more often. Do this at least once a month. Store the new version of your password not on your computer, but in your paper diary or notebook.
Step 4
Change the settings for your VKontakte page. Leave it only visible to friends. In the same way, restrict access to your photos, videos, personal data, etc.
Step 5
Do not go to the social network from Internet cafes and from other computers to which strangers have access. These machines may have malicious spyware installed. They keep track of the passwords entered from the keyboard and save them to a separate file.
Step 6
Install a quality antivirus program on your computer and keep it up to date. Scan your hard drive regularly for viruses.
Step 7
Do not download applications for VKontakte from the Internet that promise to raise your rating or increase the number of friends. It could be spyware.
Step 8
Beware of phishing. This is a special type of Internet fraud that aims to gain access to a user's confidential information. If, when downloading any VKontakte application, you are prompted to enter your username and password, in no case do this. Report the suspicious application to the resource administration. If you receive emails asking you to confirm your password, please respond in the same way.
