Skype (Skype) is a convenient program that allows two people, who are sometimes thousands of kilometers from each other, to communicate as if they were sitting in the same room. Moreover, each person using this program is registered in it under a special name - nickname.

Create a nickname
In order to be able to use this program, you need to install it on your computer and register. During registration, the program will ask you to choose a nickname, that is, some conventional name with which other users will identify you.
The choice of a nickname is entirely up to the user. At the same time, when creating a nickname, people can be guided by various motives, which, in turn, usually largely depend on the preferential goals of using the program. So, for example, someone who plans to use it mainly for work usually chooses a nickname consisting of first and last names or their derivatives, so that it would be easier for business partners to identify the interlocutor. If the program will be used mainly for communicating with real or virtual friends, the nickname may reflect the user's hobbies or represent the name of a character with which he associates himself.
Change of nickname
In some cases, the situation may develop in such a way that the nickname chosen by a person is not entirely convenient for his interlocutors. For example, this can happen if your counterpart, intended to communicate with friends of the same interests, had to be used for work purposes. If, for example, you are used to communicating with people who indicate their real name and surname in Skype, you may have difficulties in identifying it.
In this case, it is not at all necessary to ask your interlocutor to take any action: you can change his nickname yourself, so that for you it will be displayed under the chosen name. To do this, in the list of contacts that appears in the left column when you open Skype, select the one you want to change and right-click on it.
Such an action will cause a menu to appear, in which you need to select the "Rename" item. Then enter a new name with which it will be convenient for you to identify this interlocutor. Please note that you can use both Cyrillic and Latin characters to create a new nickname. After typing a new nickname, press the "Enter" key or simply left-click outside the selected field, thereby completing the renaming process. At the same time, you can not be afraid of the reaction of your interlocutor: only you will see the new name.
