Necessary
Chat script, FTP manager, hosting
Instructions
Step 1
To enable chat on the server, go to any website dedicated to web programming on the Internet. Download the script you need from it. When choosing it, remember that PHP or Perl can be easily installed on almost any hosting. ASP, on the other hand, is one of those scripts that not all providers support. While loading, look at the type of application, and also pay attention to whether the chat script saves all the data in the database and whether it works with your files.
Step 2
After downloading the script to your computer, unzip it to the server directory. If you don't have a local server, download and install any of the free Denwer or XAMMP programs from the Internet. They will help facilitate debugging and configuration of the chat connection on the hosting. After installation, be sure to carefully read the readme file attached to your script. It can describe various nuances of connecting a chat on the server using a script.
Step 3
Launch an Internet browser and enter the local address of the location of your application in the address bar. It will most likely look something like this: https:// localhost / unzipped_script_folder. Create a database in PhpMyAdmin. Run the installation file. Then just follow all the instructions that will pop up in the browser window. Quite complex programs often have an automatic installer, which greatly simplifies the setup.
Step 4
Now make sure everything is displayed correctly and functioning correctly. Then start uploading the script to your hosting via FTP manager. It remains only to make the necessary settings in the required files.
