Often, webmasters using free hosting systems, one of which is Ucoz, has a desire to change the domain from the third level to the second. This procedure is quite simple and novice webmasters will be able to cope with the task of transferring a domain.
Instructions
Step 1
To get started, go to the site control panel on the Ucoz system, logging into your site as an administrator. Then find the section titled "Domain Transfer" on the home page and follow it. You will have three options for action:
1) purchase a domain at domain.ucoz.com;
2) transfer the existing domain to the uCoz DNS servers;
3) attach the existing domain name without transferring the domain to the uCoz server.
Step 2
Since your domain has already been registered, you can immediately proceed with step number 2. Initially, in the site control panel, select the "Settings" item, then go to the "Domain transfer (your domain)" section. Then, in the panel specially designed for this, enter the domain name, then click on the "Park" button.
Step 3
In the window that appears in front of you, you will see the inscription "Request for domain parking in progress". Now wait about 5 minutes and then refresh the page. The inscription has changed to another: "Incorrect DNS servers are installed for the domain." And below there will be a list of servers. These are the uCoz DNS servers - ns1.ucoz.net and ns2.ucoz.net. Next, you need to go to the site where your domain was registered, and change the servers indicated there to the UcoZ servers. After a maximum of 12 hours, the changes will take effect.
Step 4
But you can do without a domain name transfer. Just indicate that the domain points to the IP address 217.199.217.8. Then you need to wait (about 6 hours). At the end of this period, you can continue to carry out the attachment procedure. The next step is to go to the "My Domains" section and select a name there. On another page "Dns-servers" in the fields "new dns-servers" specify these same servers, namely: ns1.ucoz.net and ns2.ucoz.net. After a day, the site will start opening.
