Instructions

Step 1

Most hosting providers have a file manager in their control panel that allows you to upload files to the hosting directly from the page in the web browser. To do this, select "File Manager" in the main window of the control panel and follow the link. Next, a window will appear in front of you, which will display your directories on the hosting. Then go to a folder called public_html and click on the Download button. To download from your PC, a file selection window will appear on the screen. Select the one you want to host and click "Upload". In this way, you can upload several files without launching various additional programs. But it so happens that file managers of hosters, with rare exceptions, do not support loading directories. Therefore, uploading many files in this way is laborious and inconvenient.

Step 2

You can pre-place several files or directories in the archives. Many hosters support unpacking and packing archives of various formats: tar.bz2, rar, tar, zip and tar.gz. For this, create an archive on your computer and upload it to the required directory on the hosting. In the file manager of the control panel, mark the downloaded file by checking the box next to its name. Click the Unzip link in the menu. A window will appear, select which folder to unpack the archive into on the hosting, and confirm the operation.

Step 3

In order to upload a large number of files, use FTP access. To connect to the hosting FTP server, use special programs - FTP clients or a common file manager called Total Commander. With its help, you can upload a large number of files without archiving. Save the FTP connection settings so that later you do not need to enter the control panel every time you need to send new files.
