Step 1
If you live in Moscow, use an unlimited landline phone tariff, and don't want to pay for the Internet at all, get a Dial-Up modem. Then use the services of the following provider: https://internetbesplatno.ru/ Remember, however, that the access speed will be so low that you will not be able to watch videos on YouTube and other video hosting sites, download entire Linux distributions, and Internet radio stations will be available to you only those that broadcast with a low audio stream rate.
Step 2
Never use so-called soft-modems for Dial-Up communication. When they work, they unnecessarily load the processor, and in Linux they do not work at all.
Step 3
Please note that Dial-Up modems are no longer available. If you wish, use the online auction to purchase them. Also note that in modern conditions, with an unlimited city phone, such a modem can be used not only for Internet access, but also for direct communication between two computers bypassing the global network (via a terminal program), as well as for receiving and transmitting faxes.
Step 4
If you switch your landline phone to a limited tariff and then organize an ADSL Internet connection using the cheapest of the unlimited tariff plans, then, perhaps, you will pay even less for the Internet and the phone, and the speed will be higher. If the operator does not provide you with an ADSL modem, or its characteristics do not suit you, purchase such a device yourself. The simplest of them are connected to the computer via the USB interface. They require mandatory software installation to work with PPPoE protocol.
Step 5
If you need to connect several computers to one ADSL modem or if you do not want to install software to work with the PPPoE protocol, purchase a special ADSL modem router. Install network cards in all computers and configure them to automatically obtain an IP address using the DHCP standard.
Step 6
To access the Internet via a cellular network, buy a set of a 3G modem and a special SIM card. Connect it to a free USB port of the machine and make the necessary settings (which depends on the OS used). Be sure to connect an unlimited tariff.
Step 7
If you need to provide simultaneous access to the Internet through the cellular channel of several devices equipped with WiFi, purchase a special set of a SIM card and a pocket modem router. This is much cheaper than connecting all devices in the same way separately (if the tariff is unlimited), but they will work only when they are close to each other and the modem. Remember that the latter, like a phone, requires periodic charging.
